Despite a diminishing mid-size sedan market, Kia and Hyundai are investing a lot of resources here. We’ve currently seen the boldly developed new Sonata during New York Auto Show. However, it will quickly be followed up by a 2021 Optima.
With crazy creases and cuts, the all-new Hyundai Sonata appears like a battle-ready ninja robot from the future. That might be what some young sedan purchasers want, however, to be safe, Kia is preparing a typical high-end car search for the 2021 Optima.
2021 Kia Optima Design
The latest rendering of that car, showing up through the Russian website Kolesa, and it’s entirely various from the one we revealed you last time. Borrowing elements from the Stinger GT and the European Ceed hatchback or the Forte, this version of the mid-size model looks more familiar.
Around the back, we see wrap-around taillights, a trait shown the Stinger and likewise seen on the creative new Proceed shooting brake model. It’s accompanied by a diffuser and big twin exhausts for a touch of sportiness.
All the models seen so far in Korea were using a double-layer of camouflage, so we can’t inform you which version is the right one. However, we ‘d enjoy in any case, especially as Kia has developed a solid reputation in this section and has more variation prepared for the new Optima.
2021 Kia Optima Engine
For example, the European market will get another wagon, more budget-friendly and stylish than the mainstream VW Passat. This, in turn, will gain both plug-in and regular hybrid versions. On the other hand, the American model must have a 1.6-liter turbo with a 7-speed DCT and a 2.5-liter with an 8-speed automobile, packing about 190 horsepower
The Optima must also have a GT sports model, packing somewhere around 280 horsepower from either a 2.0-liter or the reported new 2.5-liter turbo. And to ensure the power goes where it’s needed, AWD will be readily available, not just here, but on other versions too.
The Korean car manufacturers have already promised AWD for next year, and that’s expected to be offered in America, not simply the remainder of the world. The Optima currently has a wagon variation in Europe, and the Sonata will get one too, which seems like they’re after your Subaru Legacy loan.
2021 Kia Optima Debut
While the Optima may make its debut first under the name K5 in South Korea, we’re going to have to wait up until the 2020 Detroit Auto Show to see the global model.
